    [ltr]The Iraqi ports on Wednesday confirmed that the activation of the maritime shipping line linking King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam to the port of Umm Qasr in Basra province will increase Iraq's financial revenues.[/ltr]
    [ltr]"The opening of the maritime shipping line connecting King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam to the port of Umm Qasr in Basra province aims at intensifying trade exchange between Iraq and Saudi Arabia," Ports spokesman Anmar Al-Safi told Mawazine News.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Al-Safi stressed that "the opening of the line will support the Iraqi economy, and facilitate the movement of the entry and exit of ships in a reciprocal," noting that "so will be the reverse exchange, in the past were arriving to Basra Saudi ships only without reaching Iraqi ships to Saudi ports."[/ltr]
    [ltr]"The maritime line will facilitate the process of trade and support the economy, and will add a new line will increase the country's financial imports," the spokesman said.[/ltr]
    [ltr]According to the Okaz newspaper, King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam carried out the direct maritime shipping link with the Iraqi port of Umm Qasr in line with the initiative of the joint committee held in August last year to encourage economic exchange and to strengthen the ports' And enhancing bilateral trade between the two countries[/ltr]
