    Russia's special envoy to Syria, Alexander Lavrentev, expected the Geneva negotiations on the situation in Syria to be held as soon as possible.
    "I do not know everything that might depend on the consultations in Geneva with the UN envoy, Staffan de Mistura," Lavrintev told reporters. It is also necessary, of course, for President Assad to submit the required lists. But I think that will happen soon, I hope that Geneva will be like that.
    Lavrentiv added that it was essential that pre-negotiation activity included consultations with de Mistura and all concerned parties, with representatives of the Guarantor States.
    "I think it should be consultations with other countries that we might get some support from," he said.
