A four-way summit was held in Mecca called by Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz to discuss Jordan's economic support.
The meeting concluded with a final statement of the summit, which included pledges by Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait to provide a package of economic aid to Jordan totaling two billion and five hundred million dollars, a deposit in the Central Bank of Jordan, guarantees to the World Bank for Jordan, As well as funding from development funds for development projects.
The summit was attended by the Saudi monarch, Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Vice President of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and King Abdullah of Jordan.
Abdullah expressed his thanks and appreciation to Salman for his initiative in calling for this meeting, as well as Kuwait and the UAE for their response to the invitation and for providing the aid package that will contribute to overcoming Jordan's current crisis.
