    News reports on today revealed new details of the fire, which lasted a huge warehouse of the Electoral Commission, in the capital Baghdad.

    On Sunday, a large fire broke out in a warehouse of the Iraqi Electoral Commission, in the Rusafa area, which damaged a number of ballot boxes in the last parliamentary elections, whose results are still causing widespread debate inside the country.

    Security sources revealed that "a large number of ballot boxes were destroyed, whether by fire, or water used to extinguish it."

    The sources pointed out that the fire was "probably fabricated, as the guards of the stores where the boxes are located and are currently being searched," adding that "there are acts of violence on the outer doors of stores, showing that they opened iron hammers or any other machine was stormed before the fire "He said.

    The sources indicated that Interior Minister Qassim al-Araji "is in the Directorate of Criminal Evidence to oversee the investigation of the fire, under the guidance of Prime Minister, Haider Abadi."

    The fire was a few days ahead of the start of the recount process and promised manually, by a decision of the Parliament, under accusations of fraud and manipulation of the election results.
