Twilight News / The Sadrists, on Thursday, expressed his blessing for the end of the life of the Iraqi Council of Representatives.
Jaafar al-Moussawi, a political spokesman for the leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr, said in a statement to the twilight news that "given the proven political vision by not achieving the quorum of today's session, so Saturday is 30/6/2018 is the last day of the House of Representatives "He said.
He added that "on this occasion we congratulate the Constitution and all the political blocs that have committed and maintained not to violate," wishing "to those who sought to violate, the goodness and change."
The Iraqi Council of Representatives failed on Thursday in a session to approve an amendment to the election law, extending the legislative life, which will end the end of this month.
A parliamentary source told Shafak News that the president of the council, Salim al-Jubouri, sent a request to the legal committee to determine another day for the session. He added that the legal committee entered into a meeting to discuss the possibility of holding a meeting on Friday or Saturday.
This comes at a time opposed in most parliamentary blocs to extend the life of the current session of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, stressing that this measure is contrary to the Constitution and the law.
