Jaafari receives invitation to attend Arab-Chinese Forum
04/7/2018 12:00 am [rtl]BAGHDAD / Al-Sabah The Foreign Minister received an invitation to attend the Arab-Chinese Forum to be held in the coming days, at a time when the Chinese Embassy intends to hold a ceremony to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Iraq. "Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari received the Chinese ambassador to Baghdad, Chen Weicheng, and discussed with him the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries in a way that serves the interests of the two friendly peoples and regional and international issues of common concern," the ministry said in a statement. Jaafari praised China's support for Iraq, especially the support it gave during the war against terrorist gangs, and expressed Baghdad's aspiration to expand bilateral cooperation with Beijing in various fields, especially in industry. The Chinese ambassador praised the increase in bilateral relations to serve the two countries, the continuation of his country in supporting Iraq and the willingness to expand areas of cooperation. He revealed that "his embassy in Baghdad intends to hold a ceremony on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Iraq and China."
