Aseeb Ahl al-Haq movement on Sunday criticized the creation of the largest US consulate in Arbil, saying that its presence raises "suspicion" as a point of departure for other countries .
"The presence of such a US consulate in Kurdistan is suspicious, as the United States seeks to strengthen its influence in Iraq and continue to support the Kurds, " said a member of the Political Bureau of the Al-Maabdah, Mahmoud al-Rubaie .
"The United States is trying to make the new consulate in Erbil a point of departure for other countries neighboring Iraq, and may seek to hit the interests of those countries," Rubaie said.
He added that "the danger is the size of this consulate, which has an area of 200 thousand square meters (according to news), and therefore may be a military base inside or an airport to carry out flights inside and outside Iraq." Ending / 25 n
