Al-Alak, head of the Population Policy Committee, said in a statement today (December 12, 2018), during the inauguration of the consultative workshop on census planning 2020 in Baghdad in the presence of the Minister of Planning of Kurdistan Region Ali al-Sindi and the Director of the United Nations Population Fund and the directors of the concerned departments in the ministries of planning "The data and statistics collected by the census will help to make important future decisions and will provide increased planning for economic, social and other development in Iraq," he said.
He pointed out that "Iraq has not conducted a real census since 1987," noting that "Iraq will conduct a census of the comprehensive population includes the Kurdistan region, and takes into account the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] in the country from the collapse of oil prices and the occupation of a number of areas and will adopt modern frameworks and techniques using statistics Population for better distribution of government funds, education and health ".
