Claims to convert presidential palaces to tourist resorts

MP Ali al-Aboudi called on the government to take advantage of the Iranian experience in transforming presidential palaces into tourist resorts in Iraq.
Aboudi said in a televised statement that "the government is obliged to provide housing for deputies, especially that there are a lot of deputies come from the provinces."
"Presidential palaces would have been better turned into tourist resorts, and the government should take advantage of the Iranian experience of shortcomings," he said.
"The parliament can open the sale of state property to its occupants," he said.
It is noteworthy that many politicians still remain in the presidential palaces, despite the end of their term in power without any government decision on the evacuation of those palaces and real estate of the state.
