{Baghdad: Al-Furat News} revealed a source familiar with the sale and purchase and bargaining for the post of governor of Nineveh.
The source said, "There is a semi-documented statement that one of the political blocs offered $ 250 thousand dollars and a car {GMC} modern for each member of the province in return for ensuring its vote on the candidate for the post of governor."
For his part, said a member of the Nineveh provincial council Abdul Rahman al-Wak'a, "the state of fierce conflict revolving these days between the political blocs on the post of governor."
"Ninewa's biggest problem today is the struggle of political forces within the federal parliament over the post. Many of these forces have no presence or representation in Ninewa, so when the Ninewa Council wanted to elect a new governor who was threatened by the House of Representatives to vote for his dissolution "He said.
"Nineveh and its council today became victims of these conflicts. Instead of focusing on reconstructing the shattered province, the issue turned more than a year after it was expelled into a mere struggle for the post of governor," he said.
"The decline of differences between the blocs and the election of a new governor within the next few days, after the arrival of the decision of the Administrative Court on the legality of the removal of the former governor," noting that "the current governor, Hossam al-Abbar is the favorite to win the post of new governor."
