Trump "Strongly Refuses" Plans to Send 120,000 Troops to Face Iran
US President Donald Trump has denied reports that the United States intends to send 120,000 troops to Iran.
"I think this is false news, but can I do that, of course, but we did not plan for it," Trump said.
"I hope we do not have to plan for that, but if we do, we will send a much larger number of soldiers."
The New York Times reported that US Defense Secretary Patrick Chanahan presented a military plan last Thursday at a meeting of senior Trump security aides.
According to the newspaper, the plan would send 120,000 troops to the Middle East to counter what the Trump administration sees as a threat from Iran.
