, President of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi, attacked the government on Monday, after the incident of assaulting demonstrators in Al-Haboubi Square.
Allawi said, in a statement received / Mawazine News / a copy of it: "Damn power that can not protect its people."
He added: "Have you forgotten the days of opposing Saddam's regime? Lift your hands off our protesting people in Nasiriyah. Excessive violence will lead to more severe reactions, so will your killing of 39 million Iraqis continue?" End 29 / A 43
