On Thursday, Minister of Agriculture Dr. Saleh Al-Hassani confirmed that closing the Iraqi borders will not affect the provision of agricultural products to citizens.
The Minister stated in a press statement that "the Ministry has adopted its effective plans aimed at preventing the import of agricultural crops that amounted to 25 agricultural and animal crops in order to support the local product and provide it in markets in sufficient quantities to meet the need of the Iraqi cuisine."
Al-Hassani stressed "the return of trust between the peasants and the ministry after providing them with the appropriate support of fertilizers, seeds and modern agricultural mechanization, as well as granting the dues for marketing wheat on the next day of delivery." ".
