, Iraqi merchants warned, on Sunday, against the risk of continuing to import so-called "incoming" cars because of their inconsistency with the laws in force.
The merchants said in an interview with them that "the introduction of used vehicles (damaged or not damaged) under the name" contained "is contrary to the contexts approved by the Ministry of Trade / the General Company for Exhibitions and Iraqi Trade Services that fall into the operative part of the import license (new and undamaged vehicle) according to the decision Minister No. (215) for the year 2009 with confirmation of the request for a certificate of origin for each vehicle entering Iraq.
Iraq is at the forefront of the countries that import damaged cars, from the United States of America, because of the low prices.
Damaged cars, or what is known as the "American Import" term, are vehicles that have been subjected to traffic accidents or drowned by floods in the country of origin, and are sold at low prices compared to the same models of sound vehicles.
