The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced the start of implementing the (Bayt) project to provide low-cost housing for the unemployed and people with disabilities, in coordination with the International Labor Organization, next year.
Director General of the Planning and Follow-up Department at the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs, Raed Jabbar Bahedh, told Al-Sabah that “meetings are continuing with the delegation of the International Labor Organization, which supports the (Beit) project to establish low-cost housing and provide decent job opportunities through capacity building for youth and people with disabilities, which is expected to be implemented during the coming year.”
He explained that "the (Bayt) project aims to create decent job opportunities in light of the high unemployment rates, the existence of an informal labor sector, and the transformation of young people from job seekers to producers by urging them to be creative after finding job opportunities."
