The President of the Republic stresses the importance of confronting extremist ideas

The President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed yesterday, Monday, the importance of the role of scholars and mosque preachers in spreading the culture of moderation, stressing the need to pay attention to shrines and religious centers in Iraq, and confront extremist ideas.
A presidential statement received by "Al-Sabah" stated that "the President of the Republic received the head of the Sunni Endowment Diwan, Dr. Mishaan Al-Khazraji, and his accompanying delegation."
According to the statement, the President of the Republic pointed to "the importance of the role of scholars and mosque preachers in spreading the culture of moderation and presenting moderate visions and ideas in dealing between religions and Islamic sects," stressing "the importance of confronting extremist ideas through moderate thought, in a way that supports the meanings of tolerance and coexistence among all people." The President of the Republic stressed "the need to pay attention to shrines and religious centers in Iraq and give them attention and care in a way that reflects their historical and Islamic status and their religious and sectarian diversity, and the importance of the process of rehabilitating mosques, mosques and buildings affiliated with the endowment and the importance of caring for them from all aspects." For his part, the head of the Sunni Endowment Diwan expressed his thanks and appreciation to the President of the Republic for his support and keenness to strengthen national unity, stressing the endowment’s efforts to consolidate a state of harmony, peace and security in the country.
