The Prime Minister's Advisor for Industry and Private Sector Development, Hamoudi Al-Lami, announced today, Tuesday, new facilities for investors to support the pharmaceutical industries, stressing the formation of a specialized committee under the direction of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani to study how to facilitate granting loans to investors.
Al-Lami said, "The government has provided all facilities to support the pharmaceutical industries, as it has taken several measures to enhance the national product over imported medicine."
He added that "there is a law to protect national products, which stipulates imposing high additional fees ranging from 100-200% on imported medicines in the event that there are three local producers covering the need."
He pointed out that "a committee has been formed under the direction of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani to study how to facilitate granting loans to investors."
He stressed that "the committee has come a long way, and it is expected to present its recommendations to the Council of Ministers within the next month for approval, which will contribute to facilitating the borrowing process and loan guarantees."
