    Economy News - Follow-up
The Prime Minister's Advisor for Industry and Private Sector Development, Hamoudi Al-Lami, announced today, Tuesday, new facilities for investors to support the pharmaceutical industries, stressing the formation of a specialized committee under the direction of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani to study how to facilitate the granting of loans to investors.
Al-Lami said, in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency, which was followed by "Al-Eqtisad News", that "the government provided all facilities to support the pharmaceutical industries, as it took several measures to enhance the national product over imported medicine."
He added, "There is a law to protect national products, which stipulates imposing high additional fees ranging from 100-200% on imported medicines if there are three local producers covering the need."
He pointed out that "a committee was formed under the direction of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to study how to facilitate the granting of loans to investors."
He stressed that "the committee has made great strides, and it is expected to present its recommendations to the Council of Ministers next month for approval, which will contribute to facilitating the borrowing process and loan guarantees."
