Chairman of the Parliamentary Planning Committee Hazem Al-Khalidi, on Saturday, warned Parliament against taking decisions and steps in the budget that provoke all Iraqis, noting that the paragraph of counting the missing in the western governorates as martyrs in the budget may include the dead ISIS.
Al-Khalidi said, in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of, that "some blocs have submitted an article in the 2021 budget by counting the missing in the western governorates as martyrs and giving them salaries with this description."
He added: "What causes concern in this regard is that identifying and separating the dead of ISIS terrorists from close innocents is a difficult matter that requires verification and security checks in order to prevent the inclusion of the terrorists of Iraq’s enemies with this proposal, bearing in mind that previous experiences revealed by the monitoring authorities of falsifying not a few numbers have been included." Under the title Victims of War and Military Errors, and they are, in fact, among those killed by the terrorist ISIS who committed heinous crimes against Iraqi civilians and soldiers, and from the people of those same liberated provinces.
Al-Khalidi continued: "And for all the above, we warn Parliament against taking decisions or steps that produce those warnings that provoke the Iraqis in general and the people of the liberated provinces in particular." Ended 29 / A43
