    {Iraq: Al Furat News} The Minister of Transport, Nasir Hussain Bandar Al-Shibli, opened Saturday morning to Basra Governorate to open the road leading to the northern and southern ports of Umm Qasr.

    The ministry stated in a statement, "Al Furat News" received a copy of it, "The inauguration took place in the presence of the technical undersecretary Talib Baish and the directors of the formations within the project of roads and entrance to Umm Qasr ports, implemented by the General Company for the implementation of projects."
    During the inauguration, Al-Shibli said, "This road and all electrical infrastructure, optical communications and other works have been completed. It contains more than ten lanes for the entry and exit of trucks, after it was only two lanes."
    He also indicated that "the aim of the project is to facilitate the movement of trucks and goods and reduce the overcrowding of trucks, which increases and speeds up the movement of loading and unloading in the ports of Umm Qasr and leads to an increase in the financial revenues of the ports."
    For his part, the General Director of the General Company for Projects Implementation, Zaid Khalil Al-Asadi, said, "The road was completed according to the latest technical specifications, as the sponge polymer material for paving the surface layer was approved, after the completion of the connecting layers of tiling, the foundation and five layers of spacecraft and basecourse with a depth of 1.2 m. The length of about 4 km, as it was equipped with the latest electronic surveillance devices linked to the main electronic gate and security sonars. "  
     It is worth noting that this project was accomplished according to the best specifications, although it was implemented in the period of the Corona pandemic, as this road is 4 km long and 70 meters north and 40 meters south, equipped with about 70 cameras and a reservation yard and the completion of the gate shed and the electronic control building and the completion of the system of towers Modern lighting poles and water drainage system.
