The leader of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi, confirmed today, Saturday, that dealing with the file of de-Baathification is based on politicization, while he warned to continue this approach.

"After 18 years, dealing with the file of de-Baathification is still based on politicization and regionalism, which reflects an unjustified fear after we confronted the defunct regime while it was at the height of its power," Allawi said in a tweet on Twitter, which was followed by Alsumaria News.

He added, "We have always warned us against continuing this approach, and we have demanded again and again to refer this file to the judiciary and to prosecute those found guilty of committing crimes against our people."
