The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan parliamentary bloc proposed a solution to implement Article 11 of the region's share in the general budget.
A member of the bloc, Representative Shirwan Mirza, said, according to the official agency, that "the region's share of the budget has not yet been sent due to a technical problem," pointing out that "finding a mechanism to implement Article 11 of the Budget Law for the Kurdistan Region’s share lies in sending a technical delegation from The region to visit Baghdad to agree on the mechanism for calculating oil and non-oil resources, and how to calculate the Kurdistan region’s share of the budget and the mechanism for sending it.
Mirza added, "The meetings of the technical delegation will determine the money that Baghdad must pay to the region and the revenues that the region must deliver, because the budget is an annual law, and therefore at least the first, second, third and fourth months must be counted, as well as the fifth, and there must be." A set-off for the previous months, that is, the region’s share is calculated for these months, as well as the region’s obligations payable to Baghdad, stressing that “the two parties will be bound by the agreement, whether by the federal government or the regional government.” Ended 6/29
