The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee called for an increase in financial support for the Iraqi air defense system, while it revealed that the government is seeking to supply a modern air defense system.
Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Nayef Al-Shammari, said that the financial budget for the current year included allocations to provide the Iraqi armed forces with modern equipment, to keep pace with the development in the armies of the world .. Al-Shammari indicated that the government will contract during the next few months with important companies to provide Iraq with a modern system. For integrated air defense, indicating that the contract falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Defense, and through the Ministry of Equipping and Armament Department, and that the committee will monitor all contracts concluded by the Ministry of Defense.
