    Iranian Energy Minister, Reza Ardakanian, confirmed, on Saturday, that it had obtained the necessary licenses to provide $ 125 million from Iran's assets in Iraq to purchase 16 million doses of an anti-Coronavirus vaccine.

    Ardakanian explained in a statement to "Fars" news agency affiliated with "People", (May 29, 2021), that "approval was obtained to transfer $ 125 million from Iran's assets deposited in the Iraqi Commercial Bank to a Swiss bank to buy 16 million doses of the vaccine basket of the" Kovax "program. Of the World Health Organization ".   
    He noted that "it is expected that the administrative procedures for this purpose will end until the end of this week and that the vaccines will reach the Iranian Ministry of Health soon."  
    It is noteworthy that "Iran's assets deposited in Iraq constitute the majority of gas and electricity export receivables."  
    According to the Iranian Ministry of Health, so far 3 million and 337 thousand and 848 people have been vaccinated with the first dose of the "Corona" vaccine, and 508 thousand and 672 people have received the second dose, bringing the total number of vaccines to 3 million 846 thousand and 520 doses, and so far, 19 million have been conducted. And 687,77 tests to detect disease.
