The Advisor to the Prime Minister for Elections Affairs, Abdul-Hussein Al-Hindawi, said, Saturday, that the talk about postponing early elections from their scheduled date of next October 10 falls within the framework of speculation and wishes.
Al-Hindawi explained in a statement to the official agency affiliated with "People", (May 29, 2021), that "any talk about postponing the elections is part of the speculation and wishes of some, or it is a known type of pre-emptive electoral propaganda," pointing out that the "Supreme Committee for Election Security" Preparations continue. "
He added, "The Electoral Commission, in turn, is currently racing against time to complete its basic preparations and complete its schedule of operations towards launching electoral campaigns in preparation for polling day," declaring that "it has succeeded in updating the biometric electoral card of about one million voters born in 2001, 2002 and 2003."
Al-Kazemi's advisor called on the commission to "take all the urgent and necessary measures to complete the obtaining of about one and a half million other new voters within the same births on their electoral card," stressing that "all the owners of these births are constitutionally qualified to participate in the upcoming elections, but they do not yet possess any kind."
