    {Local: Al Furat News} The Federal Integrity Commission revealed, on Thursday, the details of the ruling issued against the deputy chairman of the Najaf Airport Board of Directors and a former member of the provincial council, indicating that the decision came against the background of a case of illegal gain.
    The authority indicated, in a statement, which {Euphrates News} received a copy of, that the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court issued a judgment in attendance against the former Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Najaf International Airport and a member of the Provincial Council; Based on the provisions of Article (19) of the amended Integrity and Illicit Gain Commission Law No. (30 of 2011), explaining that the ruling included severe imprisonment for a period of two years and a fine of (1,800,000,000) one billion dinars and (700,000) one thousand dollars, and obligating the convict to refund the value of Illicit gain in the case amounting to (1,800,000,000) billion dinars, and (700,000) thousand dollars
    The authority revealed the details of the case, which it investigated in cooperation with the Committee of Diwani Order No. (29) and referred it to the judiciary, in the matter of inflation of the money of the convict through illegitimate gain, explaining that Article (19) of the law punished imprisonment and a fine equal to the value of the illegitimate gain each of those charged with Those mentioned in Article (16/first) failed to prove the legitimate reason for the large increase in his money, his wife’s money, or his children’s money, pointing out that this case is the third of the cases of illegal gain in which the Iraqi judiciary issues decisions; Based on the Integrity and Illicit Gain Commission Law No. (30 of 2011), as amended, in less than a month.
    Article (19/4) of the law states, “The court shall rule to refund the value of the illegal gain. The convicts shall not be released according to items (Second) and (Third) of this article until after the amount of the fine has been paid and the value of the illegal gain is refunded. The expiry of the criminal case by death does not preclude Execution of the judgment to refund the value of the illegal gain.
    The authority had announced in early June the details of two rulings issued against the convict, on the grounds of revealing violations in two contracts related to Najaf Airport, and a waste of public money.
