The Social Welfare Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has registered poor families in Salah al-Din who live in landfill sites and slums in the database, in preparation for their inclusion in subsidies.
The director of field monitoring in the ministry, Salem Taleef Al-Moussawi, said: "The Ministry of Labor had previously directed a visit to the sanitary landfill sites by the field monitoring team, to include the families present there with subsidies." Al-Moussawi indicated that "most of these families are widows, families of the missing, and those who have no dependents, and most of them work in the sanitary landfill sites in search of a living."
