The Turkish Mediterranean Exporters Union announced today, Thursday, that Iraq came second as the largest importer from Turkey during the first half of the current year 2021.
"The region's exports achieved revenues of 7.32 billion dollars, during the period between January and June of this year, with an increase in the volume of exports by 40 percent, compared to the same period of the previous year," said the head of the union, Necdet Sen.
He added, "The Netherlands topped the list of importing countries with 495 million dollars, followed by Iraq with 495 million dollars, then Russia with 337.4 million dollars."
The Mediterranean region in Turkey includes 8 provinces: Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye, Hatay, Adana, Mersin, Antalya, Isparta and Burdur.
In the past year 2020, Iraq ranked fourth in the most importing countries of Turkish goods after Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom, with a value of 796 million dollars.
