{Economic: Al-Furat News} The Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources in the Kurdistan Region, Bekerd Talabani, announced on Sunday, the allocation of more than 13 billion dinars for the construction of dams in the region by the government.

Talabani said in a statement, "The regional government has allocated an amount of 13.040,000,000 dinars to complete the construction of dams in the Kurdistan region in cash and in the form of stages, according to the completed works and instructions for implementing contracts with the government."
And she indicated that "this comes within the ministry's efforts to confront drought in the Kurdistan region."
Talabani added that "the amount allocated is to complete the construction of 12 dams in the region, including 5 dams in Erbil, 4 in Sulaymaniyah and 3 in Dohuk Governorate."
