Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan affirmed that the period of arrogance and dominance of Western countries over international politics has ended, and the entire world, including Western countries, is now recognizing this.

This came in a meeting of the Turkish president with the Turkish “Criter magazine” (The Standards) published on Tuesday, in which he talked about several issues, foremost of which is the international system, the vision he holds in his book “It is possible to create a fairer world,” the Paris climate agreement, and developments in Syria.

Erdogan said: “We have reached the end of the prevailing concept of the superiority of the West and its management of problems in the world, and everyone is convinced of this. Western hegemony that lasted for hundreds of years has ended, and a new international order is taking shape.”

He explained that “after the Cold War, the world witnessed a new global policy centered on the United States of America, but it became clear that it is not possible for it to control the entire international system alone. .

He referred to the rise of countries such as Turkey as a player in the international arena, adding that "not only Turkey, many middle-power countries began to rise to the top and show themselves. We no longer live in a world where what the major powers say is carried out.”

He added that his country has reached a stage of strength, where it can carry out its military operations on its own and establish a local defense industry.

Turkey, according to Erdogan, was at the forefront of countries calling for changes in the international system by highlighting the problems that hinder its work as an organization concerned with resolving international conflicts.

Erdogan went on to list the injustices and crises the world is witnessing, and the United Nations is unable to solve any of them, such as the Syrian refugee crisis, the Rohingya in Myanmar, the tragedy experienced by the Palestinians, anti-Islam in the West, and humanitarian crises in Africa.
