“Extension”: What is happening in Baghdad is a struggle for positions
Shafaq News/ A leader in the "Etdaad" movement that emerged from the popular protests, on Saturday, said that the conflict in Baghdad between the traditional blocs over the results of the recent elections is a struggle for positions and not for the interest of the country and the service of the citizen, stressing that the extension movement announced from the beginning that it would not Be among the advocates for positions.
The winning candidate in the elections, Daoud Al-Aidan, told Shafak News Agency, "We have no problem with any party that is presenting to form the next government, and we are with everyone getting what they deserve according to their electoral entitlement, and we have no objection to the Sadrist movement, but let us know who will form the government, because we We will tell him that your work is being watched and our eyes are looking for mistakes, and we will be on the lookout for them."
He continued, "One of the conditions of the movement for those who will form the next government is that the ministers be Iraqis only, and not dual nationals, because we will strongly reject this matter and will not vote on it, especially if it is a matter of quotas between the currently conflicting political blocs in the capital, Baghdad."
Al-Aidan pointed out, "The electoral entitlement that we aspire to for those who will form the next government is to be the minister's limit only, either an undersecretary or a general manager or less. If it becomes quotas, we will stand strong towards this issue, because we are working to be efficient only and not for partisan quotas."
The winning candidate for the extension movement in the recent elections, indicated that "we have visions with some of those close to us in the political affairs, and our alliances will probably be within Parliament, because the movement still needs to be seriously assured of the intention of those close to it to advance the reality of the country during the next stage." .
And regarding the news that the Secretary-General of the extension movement, Alaa Al-Rikabi, was subjected to an assassination attempt on the tenth of last October, the day of the last parliamentary elections, by hitting his wheel with another wheel, Al-Aidan explained, “It was only an accidental traffic accident. A traffic accident, and at first it was said that it was an assassination attempt, and later it became clear that it was an accident and had nothing to do with the assassination."
Al-Aidan continued, "We are keen to deal cautiously with everything that reaches us, and the Secretary-General of the movement, Alaa Al-Rikabi, is constantly following our movements, and we have received a warning to pay attention to our current situation and that we are not representatives yet, and we must be careful in every step we take."
The winning candidate from Dhi Qar province added, "We will follow the work of the directors of departments in the province, and we will hold those who fail to serve the citizen a difficult account."
