{Political: Al Furat News} The Electoral Commission has identified 3 “eldest” candidates and the reserve to head the first parliament session.
An official letter from the Commission to the General Secretariat of the House of Representatives, a copy of which was obtained by Al-Furat News Agency, stated that the winning candidates are “Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani” the oldest, “Amer Al-Fateh” first reserve, and “Khaled Al-Daraji” second reserve.
The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, announced today, Thursday, that he had signed the republican decree to invite the new parliament to convene on Sunday, January 9.
It is noteworthy that the Federal Supreme Court, has ratified last Monday on the results of the early parliamentary elections that took place on the tenth of last October after responding to the appeal submitted against the results.
