    Tehran denies sending its Special Forces to Kurdistan Iraq

    Baghdad  –The Islamic Republic of Iran denies sending its Special Forces to Kurdistan of Iraq by the request of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan headed by the former Iraqi President, Jalal Talabani.

    The Iranian Fars News Agency stated “A source within the Iranian Foreign Ministry denied what was mentioned by some media outlets over sending Iranian Special Forces to Kurdistan in Iraq according to the PUK’s request.”

    Earlier, some media outlets stated that the Iranian Special Forces were sent to Kurdistan in Iraq due to the request of the PUK for security issues.
