    {Politics: Al-Furat News} Al-Qanuzni expert, Ali Al-Tamimi, explained the possibility of a woman becoming prime minister or the republic, according to the Iraqi constitution.

    Al-Tamimi told Al-Furat News that: "The Iraqi constitution did not specify in the candidate the most numerous bloc mentioned in Article 76 the gender of the candidate, but it came absolutely without restriction, and it was not mentioned in Article 77 of the constitution, which is the conditions of the candidate for the presidency of the Council of Ministers, which distinguishes between men and women, but rather it was general Includes male and female.
    He added, "Also, Article 14 of the Constitution equalized between women and men in rights and privileges, and Article 16 of the Constitution supported that in terms of equal opportunities."
    Al-Tamimi continued, "There is no legal impediment in the relevant laws that prevent a woman from taking over the presidency of the Council of Ministers. As for the doctrinal aspect related to the hadith of the Prophet, a people led by a woman will not succeed. It has nothing to do with the issue, neither from near nor from afar, as it came on a specific historical occasion and it is not a general legislation Rather, it is a special fact and does not constitute a general rule that must be applied.”  
    Al-Tamimi indicated that “the Holy Qur’an referred to the leadership of women in Surat Al-Naml..(They said, “We are the ones who possess strength and are given great valor, and the matter is yours, so see what you command.”) And women are for their homelands of goodness and blessing.”
    He concluded by saying, "The institutions that govern in parliamentary systems, not the prime minister alone, as in Germany..Merkel..and in India..Indira Gandhi."
