Parliament finishes reading and discussing the “Food Security” law, and Parliamentary Finance expresses objection to its paragraphs
Shafaq News/ On Monday, the House of Representatives finished reading a report and discussing the draft law on emergency support for food security and development, while the Finance Committee expressed its objection to paragraphs within the law and reserved the powers of the Minister of Finance in it.
The Media Department of the House of Representatives said in a brief statement received by Shafak News Agency, that "the House of Representatives finished its reading of the report and discussion of the draft law on emergency support for food security and development, and raised its session to Wednesday, when the President of the Republic is scheduled to be elected."
In turn, a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee Mishaan al-Jubouri said in a statement to a number of media outlets, including Shafak News Agency, that "the emergency support law for food security and development will change from the title to the paragraphs," explaining that "the law is enforceable until the legislation of the budget law for 2022."
He continued, "We removed the other sources clause from the law, and there is a reservation on the powers of the Minister of Finance within the law," stressing that "there will be no internal or external borrowing."
Al-Jubouri indicated that he "waived to Deputy Hassan Al-Kaabi to chair the Finance Committee temporarily."
