The Director of the General Authority for Ground Water in Diyala, Basem Khalaf Masoud, announced the launch of a plan to dig artesian wells in areas affected by the drought crisis.
Masoud said that the authorities concerned with the water file in the water resources and the General Authority for Groundwater launched a plan to dig wells in the affected areas after completing the geological exploration process to give official approvals for drilling wells.
He added that Diyala exceeded the planned plan by digging more than (150) wells for drinking and basic needs. It is likely that the number of wells will rise this year to / 300 / artesian wells.
