    Announced an academic Babli, on Sunday, being able to determine the validity of the use of artesian wells to maintain for drinking or agricultural purposes, while stressing the presence of chemical elements in some ofthem at a higher rate than the limit universally allowed what makes water "unfit" for drinking as may becaused by ingested serious diseases . 
    A geological researcher at the Faculty of Science at the University of Babylon Haidar Obaid Saluma Amari, according to a statement to inform the university, received a (long - Presse) copy of it, " a study of the quality of artesian well water in a number of districts of the province of Babylon and its environs, resulted in theidentification of those good ones for drinking or only agricultural uses , "noting that" some of the wells within the study sample was valid only for agricultural purposes because they contain a percentage of the chemical elements exceeds the permitted globally border means that the waters may be toxic. " 
    Amari said that " the study was published in Aljyotkink Journal of Science and Technology, which is published in India, and is one of the high - impact factor magazines in the world , " adding that it " is currently working on a joint study with his colleague Dr. Jafar al - Zubaidi, on the impact of toxic heavy items in drinking water. " 
    He explained that "heavy metals, especially mercury, iron and cobalt, have fatal effects on human , despite the lack of concentrations in the water , " asserting that "drinking water containing heavy elements for many years, leads to the accumulation in the human body, and thus lead to the occurrence of many diseases cancer and kidney failure. " 
    The University of Babylon, which is based in the city of Hilla, (100 km south of Baghdad), was founded in ( the 25th of April 1991), and includes 19 College.
