The Iranian government is counting on a province to boost tourism and increase exports with Iraq
Shafaq News/ Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi said on Thursday that his government is counting on Kermanshah province to boost tourism and increase the volume of exports of goods and merchandise with Iraq.
In a press statement upon his arrival today to the governorate, Raisi pointed out that the governorate is distinguished by its large area of fertile soil and good agricultural land.
He also noted the availability of a "very suitable ground" in Kermanshah province for tourism and exports, given the province's location on the border with Iraq.
On Saturday, the General Supervisor of Customs of Kermanshah Province, western Iran, Bakhtiar Rahmanipour, announced that his country's exports of goods to Iraq amounted to more than one billion and 490 million US dollars through land border crossings during the past three months.
It is noteworthy that the volume of Iraq's exports of goods to Iran through the land border port of Pervez Khan, adjacent to Kermanshah province, amounted to more than 10 million dollars during the past three months.
Kermanshah province has 371 kilometers of border with Iraq, and along this border there are two official crossings and five border markets.
