    It seems that the 2018 scenario has come back strongly to cloud the atmosphere that precedes the constitutional entitlement by electing the President of the Republic, while the Kurdish parties, the National Union and the Democratic Party, did not show any flexibility. The latter waved not to enter the upcoming parliament session devoted to this matter in the event that there are two candidates, at a time when observers and politicians called on the Kurdish forces to resolve their issue in this regard to remove the embarrassment of the political forces.
    A member of the House of Representatives from the State of Law bloc affiliated with the coordinating framework, Aref Al-Hamami, said: “The coordinating framework has no problem in expediting the selection of the candidate for the position of prime minister, as it has set mechanisms and criteria for this personality. The task that delayed the formation of the government, which is the position of the President of the Republic from the Kurdish House.”
    He added that "the Kurds during the next few days have to resolve their position towards one candidate, otherwise it will be the final decision through the parliament to choose a personality to occupy the position of President of the Republic." On the coordination framework, “they have complete freedom to choose whomever they deem appropriate when voting on the candidates for the President of the Republic, in the event that the Kurds do not agree on a candidate.”

    On the other hand, the representative of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Sherif Suleiman, said that his party will not enter any session of Parliament with candidates for the presidency.
