The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) stressed today, Friday, that the many sacrifices that were made to restore Iraq's standing should not be in vain.
According to a statement by the mission commemorating the bombing of the headquarters of the United Nations Mission in Baghdad in 2003, which killed dozens, "the many sacrifices that were made to restore Iraq's position should not be in vain, but all efforts must be mobilized for dialogue and solutions in the public interest of the people."
She added, "Iraq has faced countless difficulties in recent years, and the current political crisis is only the last protracted challenge. However, none of the current disputes is intractable, and it cannot be considered more important than the national interest," reiterating support for the people of Iraq.
