    [size=45]The US ambassador to Baghdad, Alina Romanowski, said Saturday that her country is working to ensure "energy independence", which contributes to the stability of electrical supplies in Iraq.[/size]
    [size=45]The Iraqi electrical system as a whole needs 35 thousand megawatts to cover the increasing demand for energy, but the national grid currently produces about 20 thousand megawatts.[/size]
    [size=45]Iraq suffers from frequent and chronic outages around the clock, but the shortage worsens during the hot summer months when temperatures reach 50 degrees. It is the electricity sector.”[/size]
    [size=45]"The United States is working with Iraq to stabilize electricity and increase its efficiency, ensuring greater energy independence," she added. She noted that these issues were a priority for her and her team.[/size]
