    Economy News - Baghdad
The official Jordanian News Agency (Petra) reported that about 3.4 million barrels of Iraqi oil had arrived in the Kingdom as of Tuesday, according to a Jordanian-Iraqi agreement to buy oil "at a preferential price less than the price of a barrel of Brent by $16."
The director of the Jordanian oil tanker company, Nael Al-Thiyabat, told the Jordan News Agency that the agreement, which was put into practice at the beginning of this year, will expire at the end of next month, and that "extending or renewing the work of the agreement is on the table."
He added, "About 10,000 barrels of oil arrive in the Kingdom daily from the Kirkuk refinery, and are transported by 500 oil tanks designated for this purpose, while 340,000 barrels arrived in Jordan last month."
Al-Dhiabat praised "the level of coordination and cooperation between the Jordanian and Iraqi governments, and their joint keenness to dispel the obstacles facing oil tankers."
The two countries concluded an agreement two years ago to supply Jordan with about 3.7 million barrels of oil, representing 7 percent of its oil needs, according to the Jordanian agency.
