The Legal Committee in the House of Representatives confirmed, on Tuesday, that the House of Representatives needs a period of two months to pass the general budget law after voting on it in the Council of Ministers.
Committee member Mortada Al-Saadi said, "The House of Representatives has entered its legislative recess, and there is a constitutional obligation for Parliament to enjoy it, and yet Parliament can hold emergency sessions."
Al-Saadi added, "Even if the budget is voted on by the Council of Ministers, it will need time in parliament to study the benefits of each province."
And he believed that "approving the budget next March is exaggerated, and it can be approved at an earlier time."
