{Local: Al Furat News} The Federal Integrity Commission revealed violations in the implementation of fourteen projects for paving and rehabilitating roads in Diyala Governorate, indicating that the cost of these projects amounted to more than 36 billion dinars.
The Integrity Investigation Department confirmed that its staff in the Diyala Investigation Office, which moved to the governorate office - Contracts Department, was able, after investigation and audit, to detect violations in the paving, pouring and rehabilitation of roads and sidewalks projects in a number of districts and districts of Diyala Governorate, which were referred within the Emergency Support for Food Security Act of 2022.
The department explained that the violations consisted of allocating sums of money to some roads that are originally paved, and approving the implementation of projects in a direct execution manner. Despite the preparation of its estimated statements as a contractor with a profit margin, which indicates the formality of preparing plans and estimated statements for projects contrary to the instructions for implementing government contracts No. (2 of 2014), in addition to listing projects under general names without specifying their locations, and not specifying the starting and ending points of the paved roads.
On a related level, the department reported that the staff of the office, which moved to the Diyala Education Directorate, detected violations in contracting procedures and preparing statements. To supply school supplies, pointing out that there is an exaggeration in the prices of materials in the speculative list prepared for the supply project that dates back to the year (2022), which caused great damage to public money amounting to (1,292,143,500) billion dinars.
