Al-Sudani: The 5-year delay in implementing the licensing round caused great losses to Iraq

Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani saw that the delay in the implementation of the fifth licensing round for five years caused great losses to Iraq, indicating that the trend towards investment in associated gas and natural gas stems from a "firm conviction."
This came during a speech he made yesterday, Tuesday, during the final signing ceremony of the fifth licensing round.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani said in his speech that "the delay in implementing the fifth licensing round for five years has caused great losses and unfortunate environmental damage to Iraq."
And Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani said, "The trend towards investment in associated gas and natural gas stems from a firm conviction to achieve economic reforms, which constitute a fundamental focus in the government program."
The Iraqi Prime Minister noted the "emphasis on the government's approach, which singled out a special axis for the investment of associated gas and natural gas within our vision of economic reform," adding: "We do not use this term as a slogan or in the field of speeches and statements, but rather as a firm conviction of the importance of achieving this economic reform."
Al-Sudani pointed out that "Iraq's entry into the global gas market is an option that we have planned and will be implemented, and we cannot see gas burning," noting that "one of the main causes of the electricity crisis is the lack of gas."
Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani indicated that “Iraq imports gas by about 8 to 10 trillion dinars annually, and this monetary mass was supposed to be transferred to health, education and the rest of the sectors,” adding: “We will reach self-sufficiency in gas within 3 years, and we want to shift to Diversify sources of income.
Al-Sudani stressed, "The government's commitment to the companies winning these contracts to secure and provide work requirements and requirements in various security, administrative and legal fields."
Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani pointed out that "there are technical, administrative and legal teams working day and night to fulfill the requirements of these projects, which will be an important factor in implementing our government program and achieving economic reform."
For his part, Oil Minister Hayan Abdel-Ghani said during the signing ceremony of the fifth licensing round, "The government was keen to sign the fifth licensing round."
The Iraqi oil minister added, "The government is keen to invest in gas and refining industries."
Hayan Abdel-Ghani noted that "the new licensing round will produce 250,000 barrels of crude per day," adding, "We are planning a new licensing round aimed at maximizing national production of free and associated gas."
It is noteworthy that the contracts include the development of 6 fields and exploration blocks, namely:
First: Exploration, development and production of the exploratory block, Naft Khana, in Diyala Governorate, and it was transferred to the Chinese company (Geo Gide).
Second: The development and production of the Al-Hawiza oil field in Maysan Governorate, which was also referred to the Chinese company (Geo-Ged).
Third: The development and production of the Sinbad oil field in Basra Governorate, which was transferred to the Chinese company (UAG).
Fourth: Development and production of (Kalabat - Qamar) fields in Diyala Governorate, which were transferred to the Emirati company (Crescent Petroleum).
Fifth: Development and production of (Al-Khashm Al-Ahmar – Anjana) fields in Diyala Governorate, which was transferred to the Emirati company (Crescent Petroleum).
