The Media and Communications Authority regulates the content of Ramadan drama

The efforts of the Media and Communications Authority resulted in defusing a crisis that might spark sectarian strife in the holy month of Ramadan, after the announcement of the intention of two satellite channels to broadcast a series and a movie about two controversial historical figures, which would have disturbed the atmosphere of tolerance in the holy month.
The Media and Communications Commission called on mbc Iraq and the "Rituals" channel not to broadcast any artwork that would lead to sectarian controversy, stressing the need to fully adhere to the implementation of the articles of the Media Broadcasting Rules Regulation.
Representative Hussein Al-Sabri praised the efforts of the Media and Communications Authority, and its insistence on keeping the Iraqi media atmosphere away from sectarianism, which disturbs the peace of society.
Al-Sabri told Al-Sabah: "The Media and Communications Commission's move is positive, because we do not need to stir up sectarian strife, but we need a positive and calm Iraqi and Arab environment." MBC Iraq and "Al-Sha'aer" quickly responded to the request of the Media and Communications Authority, through two official letters, in which they pledged not to broadcast these two controversial works.
For his part, Ali Karim, the director of the Voice of the Capital radio station broadcasting from the Municipality of Baghdad, praised the increase in popular awareness rejecting sectarianism, pointing to the existence of sensitivities towards dealing with some historical figures.

He stressed that "such acts are extremely dangerous, with a fertile environment for this issue inside and outside the country's geography," praising "the decision of the Communications and Media Authority to ban the showing of the series and the movie, which indicates a government diagnosis of the negative results that may be left by displaying such works."
Karim pointed out that his media organization, which he runs, "does not at all adopt any media or dramatic materials that contain references from far or near to any of the controversial issues, whether religious or otherwise, while striving always to adopt moderation and broadcast media materials whose outputs are moderation, tolerance and respect for the beliefs of everyone under One Homeland Space.
