Today, the Department of Popular Medical Clinics opens the national factory for the production of sterilizers and dialysis solutions in the Al-Madaen area of Baghdad.
The director of the department, Dr. Riyad Al-Hilfi, told Al-Sabah that the factory was implemented in partnership with the private sector, based on the amended Law No. 89 of 1986 in the department.
He added that the factory is equipped with the latest machines and advanced production lines from solid international origins, as it works on the production of sterilizers and highly efficient, internationally approved dialysis solutions, as well as the production of single-use medical supplies with high specifications, such as furniture, bed sheets, head covers for medical staff, and masks.
Al-Halfi explained that the factory will meet the needs of the Ministry of Health, and was established on an area of 12 dunums, and is currently operating within its experimental phase, indicating that its production capacity depends on the needs required by health institutions after the conclusion of contracts.
He added that the factory includes several lines, including the production of disinfectants and the manufacture of plastic packages for the purpose of preserving medical solutions and their effectiveness, stressing that all operations are carried out in the factory automatically and electronically according to the ratios registered in the work systems, and Turkish experts are still working on training the staff working on the production lines.
