    On Monday, the Ministry of Agriculture announced the details of the “agricultural reform initiative,” which it said would support this sector with supplies, vaccines, pesticides, and fertilizers.

    The ministry stated in a statement, which “NAS” received a copy of (May 1, 2023), that “the agricultural reform initiative launched by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani aims to adopt a comprehensive vision for the development of the agricultural sector, which reflects a new government’s direction, and the new direction of the Ministry of Agriculture is a reform approach for this. This initiative is represented by supporting inputs with requirements, vaccines, pesticides and fertilizers, as well as supporting the outputs represented in determining the final prices for receiving various crops such as wheat, barley, and others.  

    This initiative will reconsider "the issue of managing agricultural lands. Also, a fund for agricultural development will emerge from it, which includes continued funding and support for agricultural projects through specific mechanisms that will be announced in due time. This initiative guarantees job opportunities for graduates of agricultural and veterinary colleges and the rest of agricultural specializations, both plant and animal.  

    This initiative covers "all agricultural sectors, including the issue of livestock, so it is a comprehensive initiative for reform adopted by the government and seeking to achieve it on the ground. Today, we notice the trend in the Ministry of Agriculture, the government's approach represented by the Prime Minister, making the development of the agricultural sector a priority for the work and success of this government." , according to the statement.
