Today, Wednesday, the Iraqi government spokesman, Basem Al-Awadi, confirmed that there are no new taxes on car fuel in the budget.
Al-Awadi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "there are no new taxes on car fuel in the 2023 budget," noting that "the fuel provided to citizens will remain subsidized by the government and the Ministry of Oil at the same prices."
He added, "The taxes referred to in the budget are internal governmental between the companies and institutions of the Ministry of Oil," noting, "The ministry is waiting for the holy Karbala refinery to achieve its full production capacity next year, and the production of the fourth unit in Shuaiba in 2024 of gasoline will be added to it." As they will enhance the reduction of importing gasoline and provide the institutions and companies of the Ministry of Oil with the revenues resulting from reducing the import of fuel from abroad.
He stressed, "There are no disturbing fears in the future in this direction."
