Today, Monday, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers set the date for submitting designs for the new Sadr City project, while confirming the imminent launch of 5 projects for new residential cities in Baghdad and a number of governorates.
"Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani directed decisively to sign with discreet consulting companies to undertake the designs for the infrastructure of the new Sadr City project," said Haider Majeed, a spokesman for the Municipality, in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency, followed by "Al-Iqtisad News".
He pointed out, "A period of 5 months has been set for submitting project designs, and then proceeding with referral, advertising, listing, and presenting them as an investment opportunity for companies," stressing that "financial financing for the project is within the budget."
He added, "The consulting company will develop appropriate designs for buildings, whether vertical or horizontal, and it is studying all aspects of life, the environment and living conditions, and then proceeding with construction," explaining that "the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers has decided the procedures for the plot of land, which has an area of 4,400 dunums, to establish a city project." New Sadr on it, and allocating it for the benefit of the Baghdad Municipality after resolving all the conflicts between the official authorities, the Baghdad Municipality and the citizens.
Majeed stressed, "The government is serious about establishing the new Sadr City, which came in conjunction with the ministerial program, and also came in conjunction with the full-service residential cities project announced by Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani."
He pointed out, "There are 15 residential cities, of which the first phase will be launched soon, which is five cities in Baghdad and a number of provinces."
And the Municipality of Baghdad announced, earlier, the signing of a contract for consulting services for the project to prepare the designs of the new Sadr City, while indicating that the new housing cities will have a reflection on the prices of units in the capital.
